BRUSSELS – Serbia will be exempted from EU sanctions related to the import of oil and gas from Russia, it was confirmed to Tanjug in diplomatic sources in Brussels.
Brussels adds that the exemption for trade in Russian oil and gas applies to the EU as well as to its neighbors, the countries of the Western Balkans and the European Economic Area.
Today, within the fifth package of sanctions against Russia, the EU introduced a ban on access to EU ports by vessels registered under the Russian flag, stating that “deviations” are allowed for the transport of food, energy, medicine and humanitarian aid, Politika reports.
