Serbia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership, which envisages strengthening cooperation in the areas of peace and security, political cooperation, international security, military affairs, economy, trade, investment, finance and banking.
The agreement was signed during the visit of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to the United Arab Emirates in September, and the Government announced yesterday that it had adopted a bill on the confirmation of that agreement.
The strengthening of cooperation is also foreseen in the fields of industry, agriculture, transport, telecommunications, justice, social issues, health, renewable energy sources, tourism, culture and education, it can be seen in the bill.
Serbia and the United Arab Emirates signed the Agreement on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Government of Serbia and the Government of the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi.
The agreement was signed during the official visit of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to the United Arab Emirates from 10-11. September 2022, it is stated in the explanation.
In the field of transport, the plan is to “investigate cooperation between the central airports of Serbia and the UAE”, “promote liberal measures of open skies in air traffic”, “use potential and experiences in the field of land, sea and air traffic”.
When it comes to investments, cooperation envisages “exchange of information on various investment systems and incentives”, “mutual provision of financial, legal and administrative facilities and all necessary procedures in order to cooperate on the establishment of joint investment projects in Serbia and the UAE, and joint investment projects in third countries”.
In the explanation, it is written that the agreement was signed bearing in mind that bilateral relations are at the highest level in history, and that there is an expressed interest in raising the overall bilateral cooperation to the level of a strategic partnership.
