Action Plan for acquiring candidate status to be implemented by June

Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic voiced his belief that there is political will and energy in Serbia to conduct all reforms envisaged by the Action Plan for acquiring EU candidate status by June.
Appearing in “Kaziprst” show on radio television B92, Djelic stressed that there is a possibility that along with being granted candidate status in December, Serbia may also be given a date for the beginning of talks on EU entry.

He said he met with EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule yesterday and discussed the financing of political parties, adding that a legal regulation will be adopted by June concerning this remit, in line with European standards.

Serbia must meet the conditions regarding cooperation with the Hague tribunal, Djelic recalled.

Speaking about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Djelic underlined that progress has been made and the issue of Kosovo customs seal will most likely be resolved because Kosovo tried to unilaterally alter the international CEFTA agreement.

Djelic announced a visit to Belgrade by coordinators for EU pre-accession assistance from the entire region, scheduled to arrive on Monday, noting that the region is unanimous in its stance that the assistance should be increased from €200–300 million to €400–600 or even €800 million.
