A total of 28 companies from all over Serbia presented their innovative solutions for decarbonization, a fair green transition of the economy and support for energy vulnerable households.
These solutions aim to contribute to the improvement of energy efficiency, the greater use of renewable energy sources and the more efficient use of natural resources, as well as to enable the creation of “green” jobs and the reduction of energy poverty.
The teams that designed them will work with mentors to bring their ideas to life. developed for application in practice, and the most successful will receive co-financing for that, says the announcement of UNDP, which is also the organizer of the event with the support of the Government of Japan and in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Mining and Energy.
Ambassador of Japan in Serbia, NJ. E. Akira Imamura said that the solutions of these companies show the importance of engaging the business community, without which green transformation and decarbonization cannot be achieved.
“Their proposals are unique and show the most diverse solutions when it comes to energy sources, including biomass, solar and thermal energy, and even human power.” Also, many are designed so that, through innovative business models, they benefit vulnerable segments of society, including small businesses, local residents and women,” added the Japanese ambassador to Serbia.
