Agreement between Serbia and Uruguay on abolishing visas signed

 

Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay Luis Almagro signed in Montevideo an Agreement on the abolition of visas for citizens of both countries.

 In a statement the Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting, Jeremic and Almagro confirmed the continuity of good relations and mutual support in international bodies.

We will continue close cooperation in the fight against organised crime, the ministers agreed and announced a series of bilateral agreements which will enhance bilateral cooperation in economy, commerce, education and culture.

Almagro said that the policy of Uruguay regarding the unilateral declaration of Kosovo independence will not be changed.

Jeremic expressed appreciation to Uruguay for its principled support in preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

He also presented Almagro with a request sent to the UN Security Council to launch an investigation on trafficking in human organs in Kosovo.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay accepted an invitation to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) conference, to be held in September in Belgrade.

After the visit to Uruguay, Jeremic will go to San Salvador, to participate in the General Assembly of the Organisation of American States (OAS), the statement added.
