Agricultural fair in Serbia draws over 1500 exhibitors

The Chief Executive Officer of the Novi Sad Fair in Serbia, Mr Goran Vasić, has said that the participation of Portugal, as a Partner Country of the Agricultural Fair, will additionally encourage the commercial relations between our two countries as well as help domestic farmers see how agriculture functions in the countries of the European Union.  This is very important for us because the cooperation among farmers runs much more smoothly if ministries support them, Mr Vasić has said and added that he expected this fair would be much more successful and with more activities than the previous. He also said that there would be an additional quality to this fair presented through the Exhibition of Livestock, which is going to be the most comprehensive so far, along with the first national Exhibition of Organic Food, which represents a great opportunity for small and medium producers and networking within the region.

The Ambassador of Portugal to Serbia, His Excellency, Luis de Almeida Sampajo, has said that 30 Portuguese companies from the agribusiness sector will present themselves at the International Agricultural Fair. He added that the experiences from the agricultural practice of Portugal are really applicable in Serbia and that the most significant companies will be presented here.

– There are great similarities between the two countries in the field of agriculture. Portugal has been successful in this segment since its integration into the European Union. It has still been the case and therefore we would like to share these experiences with the companies in Serbia, said Mr Sampajo.
