Air Serbia has achieved its best March performance since operating under its current name, with 273,705 passengers and 3,269 flights. This marks an 8% increase in flights compared to 2024, with passenger cabin occupancy rising by 3 percentage points to 74%. CAPA, a leading air traffic analytics company, highlighted Air Serbia’s expected growth of 6% in 2024, forecasting a record 4.7 million passengers, a 67% increase from 2019. The airline now holds 55.8% of Serbia’s market share, far ahead of second-place Wizz Air (13.8%).
Between 2014 and 2019, Air Serbia’s passenger count grew from 2.3 million to 2.8 million, with a 4% average annual growth rate. The airline’s fleet has expanded from 21 aircraft in 2019 to 32 by 2025, and it plans to offer 2% more seats in the first seven months of 2025. The airline’s growth has been fueled by a shift in market share, as low-cost carriers’ presence has declined since 2021. Air Serbia now operates four destinations in Russia and has expanded its long-range network.
The airline returned to profitability in 2022 and posted record profits in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, it reported €700 million in revenue and €41.3 million in net profit, benefiting from strong demand, cost efficiency and improved employee productivity.
