Air Serbia and China Southern Airlines strengthen ties with new agreement

Air Serbia and China Southern Airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance their commercial collaboration. The agreement, signed by Air Serbia’s Director of Commercial Affairs and Strategy, Boško Rupić and China Southern’s General Director of Commercial Management, Wang Jun, outlines plans for strengthening cooperation in areas such as codeshare partnerships, cargo operations, ground handling services, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, catering and options for collaboration in passenger lounges.

Air Serbia’s General Director, Jiri Marek, emphasized the importance of providing high-quality, competitive, and cost-effective services to passengers, noting that both national airlines are exploring further commercial collaboration, potentially leading to joint investments.

Marek highlighted that Air Serbia’s strategic plans are closely linked to the development of traffic with the People’s Republic of China. The airline has successfully operated flights to Tianjin for nearly two years and will launch a direct route between Belgrade and Guangzhou on September 30. Additionally, plans are in place to begin flights to Shanghai by the end of 2024.
