Serbia’s average salaries surge: July 2024 reports notable wage increases

The average gross salary in July 2024 reached 135,195 dinars, while the average salary after taxes and contributions was 97,835 dinars, according to the Republic Institute of Statistics (RZS).

From January to July 2024, gross wages increased by 15.1% nominally and 9.7% in real terms compared to the same period last year. Similarly, average net wages saw a nominal rise of 15.0% and a real increase of 9.6%.

When compared to July 2023, the average gross salary has risen by 16.9% nominally and 12.1% in real terms. The average net salary for July 2024 is up by 16.8% nominally and 12.0% in real terms. The median net earnings for July 2024 were 76,000 dinars, indicating that 50% of employees earned up to this amount.
