Bačka Topola launches public review for “Solar North” solar power plant project

The municipality of Bačka Topola has announced a public review period for the draft plan concerning the “Solar North” solar power plant. This facility, with a capacity of up to 9,999 kilowatts (kW), will be situated on approximately 48.7 hectares of agricultural land. The public inspection will be open until October 9. The plan is being developed by “B2 Energia” from Mokrin, with “Arhiplan” from Arandjelovac handling the planning process.

The project will incorporate innovative approaches, such as the “agrosolar” concept, which integrates solar energy production with agricultural activities. This includes the use of solar panels that permit some sunlight to reach crops, thereby providing protection against extreme weather conditions and reducing land use conflicts between agriculture and energy production.

The draft plan includes the installation of photovoltaic panels with specifications to be detailed in the technical documentation phase. Additionally, the project will involve constructing medium and low voltage power facilities, underground infrastructure for power and communications, and internal roads and access routes.
