Belgrade Airport sets record in October with 752,000 passengers, despite Wizz Air capacity cuts

Belgrade Airport, operated under a concession by French company VINCI, served approximately 752,000 passengers in October, marking a 1.1% year-on-year increase. This performance set a new record for the airport’s history. Additionally, the number of aircraft take-offs and landings increased by 0.6% compared to last year.

However, the growth rate was slightly slower due to a reduction in capacity by Wizz Air, caused by issues with their Airbus neo aircraft models. In September, Wizz Air cut its capacity by about 14.5%, resulting in the removal of 26,416 seats.

In the first ten months of the year, Belgrade Airport handled 7.18 million passengers, reflecting a 7.2% increase compared to the previous year, with an additional 481,699 passengers.

Despite the strong performance, the airport expects a decline in passenger numbers over the coming months, which could last until February of next year.
