Belgrade School of Electrical Engineering wins Istanbul competition

A team of students from the Belgrade School of Electrical Engineering has won the first prize in Istanbul at the 17th international student competition involving projects in electrical engineering, the Belgrade University released Monday.

A team of students from the Belgrade School of Electrical Engineering has won the first prize in Istanbul at the 17th international student competition involving projects in electrical engineering, the Belgrade University released Monday.

The winning team comprised Nenad Bascarevic, Predrag Milosavljevic, Marija Tomic and teaching assistant Kosta Jovanovic, who served as the team’s adviser.

They won the competition with a project on an engineering approach to modelling and controlling humanoid robots. Seventeen projects reached the finals of the event.

The competition was held May 7-14 and over 100 projects from the U.S., Asia and Europe were entered.

The event was hosted by the prestigious Bogazici University, the first U.S. university outside of the U.S. border with all of its classes held in English.

The Serbian team’s project presented a part of the results achieved at the School of Electrical Engineering within the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme, or FP7.
