“An agreement was signed on June 20 last year and your parliament has ratified it since it has been operating normally all year. We, however, had an election in Brazil and that is why everything is running late,” the ambassador explained, adding that:

“I assure you that our senators have nothing against a visafree regime between our two countries.” The ambassador went on to say that a Serbian business delegation would visit Rio de Janeiro in June, when a protocol would be signed on cooperation with the new Serbian and Brazilian Chamber, which will be chaired by Serbian soccer player Dejan “Rambo” Petkovic.

The ambassador also welcomed Serbian construction companies to take part in construction tenders for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympics, which will be both hosted by Brazil.
