The Municipality of Ćićevac is making significant strides in the development of the “West” Industrial Zone, a project expected to greatly enhance the economic growth of the region. The zone will be strategically located between the municipalities of Ćićevac and Varvarin, helping both areas thrive economically.
In a recent milestone, the company “Sigma Line” signed a contract with the Municipality of Ćićevac to acquire more than 12 hectares of land at the site previously designated for the construction of the “Moravian Corridor” concrete base. This marks the beginning of crucial infrastructure work, laying the foundation for the development of production and business operations in the region. The project is poised to stimulate not only Ćićevac but also the neighboring municipalities, offering new job opportunities and improving the economic profile of the entire area.
Dr. Mirjana Krkić, the President of Ćićevac, expressed her enthusiasm, highlighting that the arrival of “Sigma Line” represents a major investment for both Ćićevac and Varvarin. The company is committed to organizing the industrial zone, creating a detailed regulatory plan, investing at least 15 million euros into the construction of its facility, and hiring a minimum of 150 workers over the next three years. This investment marks a pivotal moment in Ćićevac’s development, offering young people and residents the prospects of stable employment opportunities.
“Our priority is to stop the outflow of young people and create an environment where they can live and work with dignity. With the arrival of ‘Sigma Line’ and interest from other domestic and international investors, the ‘West’ Industrial Zone will be a significant driver for the local economy,” said Krkić.
The industrial zone’s growth gained further momentum following a visit by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić earlier this month. The President’s cabinet pledged full support for the zone’s development, which will likely accelerate further investments and job creation in the region.
With these ongoing developments, the “West” Industrial Zone is set to become a key economic engine in this part of Serbia, offering a bright future for the municipality and its residents.
