Clarification on land ownership issue involving Serbia ZiJin Copper doo Bor

The Agency for Spatial Planning and Urbanism of Serbia is not involved in the request for property rights registration by Serbia ZiJin Copper doo Bor for cadastral plot number 1257/13 KO Majdanpek, stated Agency director Đorđe Milić to FoNet. Addressing media reports about the company acquiring 3.3 million square meters of land at no cost, Milić clarified that under the Law on Planning and Construction, the procedure for converting land use rights to ownership applies solely to construction land.

He emphasized that the land in Majdanpek is designated for mineral exploitation, not construction purposes. Milić confirmed that Serbia ZiJin Copper d.o.o. Bor did not submit a request to convert land use rights to ownership to the Agency. Consequently, he concluded that the Agency plays no role in the initiated request for property rights registration for the company on the specified cadastral plot.
