The prices of goods and services for personal consumption in December of last year, compared to November 2023, were on average higher by 0.1 percent, announced today by the Republic Statistical Office (RZS).
The year-on-year inflation rate was 7.6 percent, as consumer prices in December increased by that amount compared to the same month the previous year, while, compared to 2022, consumer prices increased on average by 12.1 percent.
Measured by the main groups of products and services classified by the purpose of consumption, in December of last year, compared to the previous month, price growth was recorded in the following groups: recreation and culture by 1.2 percent, equipment for the home and current maintenance by 1.0 percent, clothing and footwear by 0.9 percent, health by 0.5 percent, and communications by 0.3 percent.
For food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as tobacco, and for restaurants and hotels, there was an increase of 0.2 percent, while for housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, there was a 0.1 percent increase.
There was a decrease in prices in the transportation category, amounting to 1.6 percent.
