Contract signed for EUR 53m worth of overhaul of block in steam power plant Kostolac B

Building company Energoprojekt Entel and Steam Power Plants and Strip Mines Kostolac signed the contract worth EUR 53m today (June 3, 2010) for part of capital overhaul of the second block in steam power plant Kostolac B.

It was announced after the signing of the contract that the overhaul and modernization of the units would last for six months and that the works should be finished in early December 2010. Capital overhaul of the block 2 in steam power plant Kostolac B will be done by the consortium of domestic companies led by Belgrade-based Energoprojekt Entel.

Serbian Energy Minister, Petar Škundrić, said that the overhaul would increase the capacity of block 2 (of 350 MW) by about 10% and that would be a part of the USD 1.25bn worth of arrangement with Chinese partners, which envisaged the overhaul of whole Kostolac plant and construction of new blocks.
