Dutch investment fund HTP took over Svilajnac-based Reum

Dutch investment fund HTP has taken over a majority stake in the company Reum GmbH from the province of Baden Virtemberg in Germany. This German company has built a factory of car parts in Svilajnac.

Svilajnac Deputy Mayor Predrag Milanovic says that they have got the official information on that, which has also been confirmed by the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), and the next step is that the representatives of HTP come to Serbia and agree on a new strategy with the representatives of the Government, the Ministry of Economy and the municipality.

– We expect the factory of car parts for high-class automobiles that Reum has built in Svilajnac to be put in operation soon – says he and adds that the Dutch investment fund has entered Reum “through a German manufacturer of car parts, after Reum got into financial problems”.

The agreement on construction of the factory in Svilajnac was signed with Reum on August 6, 2008, while the foundation stone was laid on October 21 by Serbian Minister of Economy and Deputy Prime Minister Mladjan Dinkic and Reum CEO Rolf Rieter.

The commencement of construction of the factory on an area of 9,000 square meters was symbolically marked in that way, and the factory was supposed to be put in operation in March 2009.
