Dynamic testing of Novi Sad-Subotica high-speed rail line

Serbian Railway Infrastructure announced that dynamic testing of the high-speed railway line from Novi Sad to Subotica, which can reach speeds of 200 kilometers per hour, will commence today, September 23, and continue until October 10.

The purpose of this testing is to verify that the new high-speed line is ready for train operations, with a final report expected by November 8. No other railway traffic will be allowed on this section during the testing period.

According to the announcement, the testing will be conducted by German Railways using measurement trains from Deutsche Bahn Systemtechnik, the same company responsible for dynamic testing on the Belgrade–Novi Sad line.

Testing will occur daily and will evaluate the tracks, contact network, and the integrated ETCS Level 2 safety system. Depending on the type of testing, Stadler electric multiple units will also be utilized.

The planned schedule indicates that Deutsche Bahn Systemtechnik will conduct between two and eight test runs each day in both directions. Prior to each testing session, a visual inspection of the entire section will be performed using a motorized inspection vehicle.

The Serbian Railway Infrastructure emphasizes that public access to railway stations, tracks and platforms along the test route is prohibited and poses significant safety risks. Violating these rules could endanger both personal safety and railway operations.

Furthermore, staff from the consortium of Chinese Railways and Serbian Railway Infrastructure will be deployed along the entire line during the testing, with increased law enforcement presence.

It is important to note that, as part of the project, grade separations for road and rail crossings have been implemented along the entire route from Novi Sad to the Hungarian border, eliminating all level crossings in this section.
