Economic incentives for introducing clean technology

Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic stated that intensive work is being done to provide economic incentives for introducing clean technology and on the preparation of a National Communication on Climate Change.

Speaking at the presentation of a publication, “Climate Change – studies and analyses”, Dulic stressed that Serbia is located in a region which is very sensitive to climate change. He pointed out that a global increase in temperature is expected to take place over the coming years, which will create many problems including those related to health and biodiversity.

Speaking about renewable energy sources and energy conservation, he highlighted that it is important to change attitudes towards energy consumption and to focus on renewable energy sources.

Attitudes towards the energy sector must also change, asserted Dulic, remarking that nuclear energy should not be an option if there is potential for using renewable energy sources.
