Dragomir Markovic, the Director General of the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS), Milenko Jezdimirovic, the Director General of Dunav Osiguranje, and Milan Stamatovic, the Mayor of Cajetina, signed an agreement yesterday on Zlatibor mountain for the construction and exploitation of mini hydroelectric power plants and solar plants on that mountain.
The EPS CEO said that, with the state’s financial support, that public company had started the implementation of the project involving the construction of 50 mini hydroelectric power plants in Serbia, for which a loan of EUR 45 million was expected to be granted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as well.
Dunav Osiguranje is going to invest EUR 1 million in the construction of mini hydroelectric power plants on the territory of Cajetina, said Milanka Jezdimirovic. Pointing out that it is possible to have 28 mini hydroelectric power plants built in Cajetina, Milan Stamatovic, the Mayor of that municipality, added that that territory also had a great potential in the field of solar and wind energy.
Representatives of the EPS and Dunav Osiguranje yesterday signed the same document with the municipal representatives in Ivanjica.
