EPS implements new electricity pricing models to enhance market adaptability and financial stability

Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) has announced that its Assembly has approved new methodologies for determining electricity prices for commercial supply customers. The aim of these changes is to meet customer needs while maintaining financial integrity and business sustainability.

According to EPS, the new pricing approach ensures that electricity prices are aligned with current market conditions, providing stability and predictability for customers.

Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, stated that the adoption of these methodologies fulfills Serbia’s final structural benchmark set by the International Monetary Fund for the energy sector.

“The new methodologies allow for monitoring market fluctuations, both in terms of price decreases and increases. This will facilitate more efficient electricity supply contracts in the open market under competitive conditions, considering factors such as the lowest electricity price, payment terms, and supply security,” Đedović Handanović said.

The adopted methodologies include those for setting fixed prices and prices with leveling for the comprehensive supply of electricity to end customers, based on market principles. Additionally, new methodologies cover dynamic pricing for complete electricity supply, pricing for electricity produced from renewable sources, and pricing for electricity supplied under contracts with net calculation.

Đedović Handanović emphasized that the flexibility introduced by these methodologies will lead to a more diverse range of offers, enhancing energy efficiency and the competitiveness of the Serbian economy by optimizing electricity costs in final products.
