Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso yesterday opened the EU Information Centre at the Youth Centre in Belgrade, where citizens will be able to find out more about the Union, the integration process and the EU funds.
The opening of the EU Information Centre was also attended by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic, European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule and Head of EU Delegation in Serbia Vincent Degert.
The EU Information Centre in Belgrade provides the public with information about the EU and its institutions, as well as the EU – Serbia relations.
The EU Information Centre aims to get closers to citizens and will provide walk-in information, web information, printed information and the EU Library. Free materials are downloadable on http://www.euinfo.rs.
After the opening of the EU Information Centre, Barroso, File and Degert answered questions of representatives of universities, professors and students, non-governmental organisations and organisations dealing with European integration.
