Serbia’s total foreign trade in goods in the period from January to October this year amounts to 54.4 billion euros, which is a decrease of 1.6 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the data of the Republic Institute of Statistics (RZS).
Exports of goods increased by 4.9 percent, to a total of 23.9 billion euros, while imports amounted to 30.4 billion euros, which is 6.1 percent less compared to the same period last year.
The deficit in foreign trade is 6.4 billion euros, which is 32.4 percent less than in the same period last year.
According to RZS data, the coverage of import by export is 78.7 percent and is higher than the coverage in the same period of the previous year, when it was 70.2 percent.
Foreign trade in goods was the largest with countries with which Serbia has signed free trade agreements. The member countries of the European Union make up 59.6 percent of the total exchange.
