French President and Serbian President celebrate completion of key works at Belgrade Airport

During the state visit, French President Emmanuel Macron and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, along with Nikola Notbar, General Director of VINCI Concessions and President of VINCI Airports, officially marked the completion of major modernization and expansion works at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The project, which began in July 2019, underscores VINCI’s commitment to enhancing Serbia’s vital infrastructure.

VINCI Airports, managing the concession since December 2018, has overseen the financing, design, operation, and modernization of the airport in partnership with VINCI Construction Grands Projects. The expansion includes a redesigned 40,000 m² terminal with new waiting rooms, aircraft parking positions, reconfigured access roads, and commercial spaces expanding to over 9,000 m². Additionally, a new 3.5 km runway has been constructed to support ongoing operations.

The airport has seen significant growth, handling nearly 8 million passengers in 2023 compared to 6.2 million in 2019, and expanding to 116 destinations, including new long-haul routes to Lyon and Nice.
