Gap to open in Serbia and Ukraine

 

Gap has plans to dress the residents of Belgrade and Kiev.

The San Francisco specialty retail brand will open a 9,000-square-foot Gap franchise in Kiev, Ukraine in June. The country is the fifth-largest retail market in Eastern Europe, and the franchise partner in Ukraine is Fiba Holding A.S., which already has Gap and Banana Republic franchises in Turkey and Russia.

A Serbian Gap will open in Belgrade later this year. The franchise partner for Serbia is The Marinopoulos Group, a Greek firm that also manage Gap Inc. franchises in Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Romania.

Gap has about 180 franchised stores open in 24 countries. In addition to Serbia and Ukraine, Gap franchises will also open in Chile and Egypt later this year.

Gap plans to have 400 franchised stores open by 2015.
