Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric signed yesterday with German company “Muhlbauer” the Agreement on a grant for encouraging investment worth €500,000 for the creation of 100 new jobs.
Ciric said that more than half of employees will be highly qualified specialists with academic education, because they will work on a sophisticated product which “Muhlbauer”, the world leader in high technology manufacturing of chips in identification documents, will be made in Serbia.
Our country will for the first time have a production of high technology software and hardware, the Minister said, adding that “Muhlbauer” has already cooperated with the Serbian government in the production of biometric passports, identity cards and driving licenses.
He said that this company has seven factories in Germany, one in Slovakia and will have a new one in Serbia and added that construction of the factory will begin in June and will be completed in October.
Ciric visited yesterday the factory of the Danish manufacturer of water pumps “Grundfos” in Nova Pazova, which plans to participate in the competition organised by the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency for a grant for construction of a new water pump factory in Indjija.
The total investment of “Muhlbauer” is €4 million and is intended for building a technological centre for engineering and manufacturing in the municipality of Stara Pazova, which is one of the least developed in Serbia and has a very high unemployment rate of 14.9%.
“Muhlbauer” is the world leader in secure technology solutions in the field of electronic identification in an area that includes high-tech machines for production of electronic documents, electronic passports, biometric ID cards, as well as other elements related to electronic administration and accompanying software.
The German company was founded in 1981 and employs 2,000 workers.
