Far from the eyes of the public, directors of eleven divisions of a big German company have recently visited Serbia and selected Simanovci work zone in the municipality of Pecinci as the location of their future factory.
Since the company is a giant in the machine industry and the negotiations are in the final phase, the authorized people have not been able to officially reveal the name of the company, but they have announced for eKapija that it will be one of the largest investments in Serbia.
– Since it is a potentially large investment, the negotiations have immediately been joined by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development. Construction of a center for production and distribution of their products is in the pipeline and, if everything goes as planned, the future division in Simanovci will be the center for Southeast Europe – Radivoj Milosevic, the Director of the Pecinci Development Agency, told eKapija.
With about 40 domestic and foreign companies that have invested over 250 million euros, Simanovci is one of the most attractive destinations for investors.
Strauss Adriatic, PFI Studio, Jub Boje, ITM, are only some of the big names that have positioned their businesses next to E-70 road, alongside Corridor 10, in the vicinity of Nikola Tesla Airport and only 25 km away from Belgrade.
On the left side of the highway, the work zone, which is completely equipped with infrastructure, covers about 300 ha and companies have so far occupied about 60-70% of that space. Another about 30 ha are still in the possession of the municipality, while the rest belongs to private owners – Milosevic explained for our web portal.
However, as he told us, there is also a big potential for future investors in Simanovci work zone that stretches along the right side of the highway. It occupies the surface of 470 ha, but it has not been equipped with infrastructure yet.
When it comes to the price of land in Simanovci, it amounted to about EUR 28 per square meter before the crisis, while the last auctioned land was sold at the price of EUR 23 per square meter.
