Testing for Novi Sad-Subotica high-speed railway set to start

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesić, announced that testing for the high-speed railway between Novi Sad and Subotica will commence on Saturday, conducted by the German national railway company, Deutsche Bahn.

Vesić informed B92 television that “testing of the Novi Sad – Subotica high-speed railway will start tomorrow, and by October 10, we will have a fully certified railway that meets European Union standards.”

He added that the railway service from Belgrade to Subotica is set to launch on November 25.

“Trains from any European country can operate on the Serbian railway, as it has been certified by all European authorities,” Vesić stated.

He emphasized that the high-speed railway, constructed by Chinese companies, will also receive European certifications, as mandated by law, and noted that these companies were granted European certifications while working in Serbia.
