If other cities followed the example of Subotica, which has long-term plans for development of the economy and efficient administration, Serbia would be an ideal country for foreign investments – Krister Asp, the Ambassador of Kingdom of Sweden, pointed out Thursday in Subotica.
– How important this market is to our countries is best proved by the presence of branch offices of 70 companies from Sweden, as well as the construction of furniture market chain of Ikea, which will have the regional office for western Balkans and plans to invest over EUR 1 billion in this project.
Mete Kjuel Nilsen, the Ambassador of Denmark, and Nils Ragnar Kapsvag, the Ambassador of Norway, announced that there were many companies in their countries that would invest their funds in construction of plants in the north of Backa.
– Stable economy is certainly one of important conditions for integration into the European Union and we want to help Serbia become a member of the EU as soon as possible by investing in it – Ambassador Nilsen stressed.
– Subotica has an exceptionally interesting position and very good conditions for investments so I believe that that potential will soon be recognized by our companies as well.
According to Sasa Vucinic, the Mayor of Subotica, the visit of these ambassadors is the beginning of a cooperation between the city and Scandinavian countries.
