The Ports Management Agency recorded 14.8 million tons of transshipped cargo on rivers in Serbia during 2023. According to the Agency’s statement, after processing all the data, the total volume of “processed” cargo is expected to be higher by two percent compared to 2022.
The most commonly transshipped goods by ships include gravel, sand, stone aggregates, coal, oil, and petroleum derivatives.
When it comes to passenger traffic, in the last year’s nautical season, there were 1,409 dockings and 183,043 passengers recorded.
“The number of dockings is at the same level as in 2022, while the number of passengers is 35 percent higher, thanks to better capacity utilization of cruise ships,” stated the Agency.
The most dockings were recorded in Belgrade (567), followed by Novi Sad (373), Donji Milanovac (268), and Golubac (179).
