Iraqi investor explores business opportunities in Zemun

Gavrilo Kovačević, the President of the City Municipality of Zemun, met with the Ambassador of Serbia to Iraq, Branislav Žeželj, and Iraqi businessman Mohamed Al Mohaisen, who expressed a strong interest in investing in Zemun.

Al Mohaisen, the founder of the Danube Investment Authority, which focuses on innovation and productivity development, highlighted Zemun’s strategic advantages for business investment. He emphasized the municipality’s favorable geographical location, developed transport infrastructure, and its strong connection to the global market, making it an attractive destination for investments in sectors such as IT, technology, fashion, cosmetics, tourism and marketing.

Ambassador Žeželj praised the support from the Government of Serbia and local authorities in strengthening economic ties with Iraq. He emphasized the importance of continued business communication to achieve further collaborative successes.

Kovačević expressed gratitude for the visit, underlining that cooperation with Iraqi investors would be a major boost for Zemun’s development, particularly in terms of financial investments and the creation of business incubators.

“Such projects will provide young people with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in global business processes, contributing to the strengthening of the municipality’s economy,” said Kovačević.

The meeting concluded with agreements on further cooperation and the media representation of Iraqi investors, paving the way for potential new business partnerships in Zemun.
