Italian Omniapack builds foil and packaging factory in Zrenjanin

The representatives of the city of Zrenjanin and Italian company Omniapack signed a sales contract in Zrenjanin on construction of a foil and packaging factory in Industrial zone Bagljas.

The first sales contract in Zrenjanin after the Law on Planning and Construction was put in effect in September 2009 was signed by Mayor Dr. Mileta Mihajlov, City Development Directorate Director Branislav Knežević, and Omniapack CEO Michele Belotto.

The buyer promised to pay about 20 million dinars for the building parcel at 27,000 square meters, in the location that is largely equipped with infrastructure. The buyer should also provide additional RSD 7,144,000 for the building land organization costs.

Belotto announced at the press conference that the foil and packaging factory would be built during the next year and that the production would start in 2012. According to the investor’s announcements, the factory in Zrenjanin will employ about 50 workers, while the production will be intended for the domestic market. Omniapack Ltd. already has production units in Novi Bečej.
