In 2022, large companies in Serbia made a total profit of EUR 3.8 billion, which is 66 percent more than the year before, the Agency for Business Registers (APR) announced.
Profitability growth was accompanied by an increase in the number of employees, which was 27,770 more than in 2021, and that segment of companies was the only one to record an increase in the number of employees.
As it was emphasized, the most intensive increase in the positive net result was achieved by micro-economic companies, which make up 85.5 percent of the total number of economic companies in Serbia.
In 2022, micro companies made a profit of EUR 3.8 billion, which was 2.8 times higher than the year before, but the operations of those companies were accompanied by a decrease in the number of employees by 11,769 workers.
Both small and medium-sized companies recorded a decrease in employment, with small companies for 1,118 employees, and for medium-sized companies with 9,508 employees.
