Lece mine – largest gold mine in Europe

Miroslav Bogicevic, the owner and CEO of Sabac-based Farmakom MB concern, said that chemical analyses of the lead concentrate from Lece mine had showed that that mine was, actually, the largest gold mine in Europe.

– Chemical analyses have shown that one ton of lead concentrate from Lece mine contains 160 g of gold. Speaking in financial terms, one ton of that concentrate is more expensive than the same quantity of cathode copper – said Bogicevic.

Bogicevic told Beta agency that the exploitation of the ore deposit where the presence of 260 g of gold in one ton of concentrate had been confirmed was expected to commence in about 20 days.

Farmakom MB concern has bought Lece mine to satisfy its own needs, primarily in the production of car batteries (Black Horse), but it has been selling the surplus products at the price of lead concentrate.

The car battery plant in Sombor exports about 90% of the production.
