From today, industrial electricity prices will be reduced by approximately 20%, marking a significant decrease from the previous rate of 119.67 euros per megawatt-hour, announced Dušan Živković, the Acting Director of Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), as conveyed by the company.
“In our negotiations with individual customers, pricing is determined based on several factors, including overall consumption, consumption patterns, and prevailing market conditions,” Živković explained. He further noted that EPS offers multiple pricing options, supply periods, and the flexibility to adjust electricity rates in line with market trends during the agreed supply period, providing customers with tailored solutions to meet their needs.
During the recent crisis, EPS collaborated with the Serbian government to mitigate extreme fluctuations in global energy prices by imposing limits on electricity tariffs. With the stabilization of electricity prices on European exchanges, the need for price controls in the Serbian market has diminished. Živković emphasized that household electricity rates remain unchanged, ensuring no increases for consumers this year.
