Mali: In the next month, excise taxes on fuel will be 20 percent lower

The Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, stated today that the state is doing everything possible to mitigate the negative consequences of the crisis that has affected the whole world.

Speaking about the measures of the Government announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, he confirmed that several decisions will be made on Thursday, which are primarily intended to protect the living standard of the citizens of Serbia.

– We will limit the export of wheat, corn, oil and flour. We have enough of everything, but we want to avoid the situation that happened on Monday, when they wanted to export a quarter of everything we have in Serbia. We have to take care of our citizens and, on the other hand, in order to calm down the derivatives market, the state will give up 20% of excise duties on fuel in the next month – said Mali.

He added that it is a measure that is in line with the existing law, with the intention of mitigating the large increase in prices at gas stations.

The Minister of Finance stated that with the reduced excises, the budget will have a reduced income of about 30 million euros per month, but that public finances can withstand that cost.

– The loss on excises alone is 3.6 billion dinars per month, which is a huge amount of money, ie about 30 million euros that the state takes over – said Mali, Morava Info reports.
