Mioni Factory unveils new facility, doubling production capacity and enhancing sustainability

The Mioni Factory, a leading producer of mineral water and soft drinks, inaugurated its new production facility in the village of Ključ near Mionica. This €16 million investment marks a significant advancement for both Mioni and the Kolubar district, allowing the factory to double its production capacity to over 500 million liters per year and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance the Mioni brand.

Saša Mićić, the general director of Mioni, highlighted the strategic importance of this new facility: “This investment reflects our commitment to long-term development and modernization, creating a solid foundation for future success.” The new production line boasts a capacity of 31,500 bottles per hour for the 1.5-liter format and 44,000 bottles per hour for the 0.5-liter format, significantly increasing efficiency during peak demand periods. With the upgraded equipment, Mioni can fill nearly 2 million liters in just 24 hours, equivalent to 100 truckloads of product—double the previous capacity. Additionally, the use of R-PET material and lighter bottles that reduce plastic usage by over 25% demonstrates Mioni’s commitment to sustainable business practices and environmental protection.

Mioni continues to develop its own brands while also producing a wide range of private label products for major global and domestic retail chains. Mićić emphasized that upcoming innovations, supported by partners, will facilitate further growth and expansion into regional and international export markets.

The factory has also implemented solar panels as part of its eco-friendly business strategy, and the completion of a wastewater treatment plant underscores its commitment to preserving natural resources.

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Municipality of Mionica, who stressed the importance of this investment for the local community, particularly in terms of job creation and economic improvement for the region.

With the new facility featuring the fastest water packaging line in the region, Mioni reaffirms its position as a market leader while continuing to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible business practices.
