The Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, announced that the Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline will be built by 2028.
We have started the construction of the Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline, which is in the stage of drawing up technical documentation, and the investor will be Transnafta. The plan is for the construction of this oil pipeline to be completed by 2028, which will enable the transport of around four million tons of oil. This will be worked on in parallel with the expansion of oil storage capacity, which is a prerequisite to increase our mandatory reserves in accordance with European regulations – said Đedović Handanović at the Gas Forum of Southeast Europe in the Falkensteiner Hotel.
She said that the pipeline to Hungary is important because of the diversification of crude oil supply. Speaking about gas, Đedović Handanović said that the state plans to build gas pipelines with North Macedonia and Romania by 2028. The Southeastern Europe Gas Forum is organized by the Balkan Energy portal under the auspices of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, and the main topic of the forum is successful business on the way to a “Net Zero economy”, because gas plays a key role in the implementation of the green energy transition.
