Gaming industry sees bright future: 70% of employees optimistic about sector growth

Seventy percent of employees in the gaming industry are optimistic about the future of their sector. Svetlana Mikić from Playstudios highlights predictions that this year will close with a record number of professionals working in the gaming industry, as stated in a recent announcement. She attributes this growth to the expertise and knowledge of domestic professionals, the increasing global player base, as well as macroeconomic and geopolitical factors. “There is a clear demand for employees on the global gaming stage, and Serbia is positioning itself as a promising market due to the skilled professionals working here. SGA (Serbian Games Association) genuinely leverages every opportunity to promote the potential of the domestic market,” notes Mikić.

The industry will see job openings for highly qualified specialists in art and creative direction, project management, programming and various administrative roles.

Mikić also emphasizes that formal education is facilitated through collaborations between gaming studios and various academic institutions. Additionally, retraining programs, self-directed learning, and the community’s willingness to share knowledge and experience play a significant role in staff recruitment. Tanjug reports that video games produced in Serbia have been installed over 100 million times.
