January 2024 sees a 0.9% increase in agricultural and fishery product prices

In January 2024, the prices of agricultural and fishery products were 0.9% higher compared to January 2023, according to the latest data from the Republic Statistical Office.

When analyzing by major product groups, the biggest price increases were observed in grains, up by 16.7%, and industrial crops, up by 7.5%. Compared to December 2023, prices of agricultural and fishery products in January 2024 increased by an average of 3.1%, with the price of grains contributing the most, rising by 10.3%.

Throughout 2023, prices of these products were, on average, 2.1% higher than in 2022.

The largest contributors to the price increase over the past year were industrial crops, up by 7.6%, and livestock and poultry, up by 5.1%.
