Reconstructed runway 12L-30R opens at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport, boosting air traffic and connectivity

Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport has officially opened the reconstructed 12L-30R runway, a significant milestone announced by the Directorate of Civil Aviation of Serbia. The newly upgraded runway is expected to enhance air traffic flow, increase passenger transport capacity and strengthen Serbia’s global connectivity.

The extensive reconstruction project, which took 17 months to complete, involved significant improvements, including the transition from the temporary runway to the main 12L-30R runway. The upgraded runway stretches 3,000 meters in length and is now equipped with advanced technical systems, including the Category III B instrument system. This system will allow aircraft to take off and land safely, even in the most challenging weather conditions.

This modernization is a crucial step forward for the airport, aiming to accommodate growing air traffic and improve the overall infrastructure of Serbia’s primary international gateway.
