Retail trade turnover in April goes up

 

The Statistics Office said that the retail trade turnover in the Republic of Serbia in April 2011 compared with April 2010, decreased by 2% at current prices and by 14.1% at constant prices. 

In April 2011, compared to March 2011, turnover of retail trade increased by 7.7% at current prices and by 6.7% at constant prices.

Retail trade turnover in the period January- April 2011, compared to the same period 2010 increased by 0.2% at current prices and decreased by 11.3% at constant prices.

Data on retail trade turnover are obtained from regular monthly statistical survey. All published indices ought to be regarded as preliminary, meaning that certain corrections can appear on the basis of the results, obtained in the quarterly statistical survey, published as a separate communication Domestic Trade of the Republic of Serbia (PM11).

The turnover indices at constant prices are obtained by deflating the indices at current prices by the corresponding indices of retail prices, excluding: water (from public utility systems), electricity and motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts.
