Serbia-Czech trade volume reaches €1.41 billion, surplus of €128.5 million recorded

In the first eight months of 2024, Serbia’s trade with the Czech Republic totaled €1.41 billion, marking a growth in both exports and imports. Exports from Serbia to the Czech Republic increased by 10.6%, reaching €771.6 million, while imports from the Czech Republic grew by 4.8%, amounting to €643.1 million, according to data from the Serbian Statistical Office.

As a result, Serbia recorded a trade surplus of €128.5 million with the Czech Republic, with export coverage of imports standing at 120%. According to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Czech Republic is Serbia’s 8th largest export partner and 10th largest import partner in 2024.

Among the main exports to the Czech Republic from Serbia were ignition wire sets, seat parts, automatic circuit breakers, direct current motors, vehicle body parts, and various types of sheet metal and strips.

On the other hand, Serbia’s top imports from the Czech Republic included automobiles, machine parts, various unsorted goods, conductors, and vehicle body parts.

According to the Serbian Business Registers Agency, as of August 2, 2024, there are 260 active companies registered in Serbia, where Czech nationals or legal entities from the Czech Republic are the majority owners.

Since 2010, Czech residents have invested approximately €424 million in Serbia, placing the Czech Republic 18th on the list of countries with the highest investments in Serbia during this period, according to the National Bank of Serbia.
