The Serbian Government has issued a decision declaring the public interest for expropriation to build a new gas transfer station, “Horgoš”.
The decision was made in accordance with the Detailed Regulation Plan for the construction of the new gas transfer station Horgoš, located in the cadastral municipality of Horgoš, within the Kanjiža municipality.
The state-owned company Srbijagas, which is the project investor, has been designated as the beneficiary of the expropriation.
According to the mentioned regulation plan, the new gas station will be constructed due to the outdated and inadequate equipment and gas measurement methods at the current Horgoš transfer station.
The planned area for the project spans just over 22 hectares, with the new station to be built next to the existing one, in close proximity to the Hungarian border.
The station will primarily serve the needs of the TurkStream gas pipeline passing through Serbia.
While the capacity of the new station has not been specified, the current Horgoš transfer station has a capacity of 540,000 m3/h (13 million m3/day).
