Serbia, Ceremonial opening of the Toyo Tire factory in Inđija

Toyo Tire Corporation has opened a high-tech plant for the production of tires in Inđija. This is her first greenfield investment in Europe and is worth over 390 million euros. The construction of the plant lasted 17 months.

With the ceremonial opening of the factory, the company Toyo Tire Serbia, which operates within the framework of the Japanese corporation Toyo Tire, marked the official start of the operation of this tire factory, which will have more than 500 employees in the first phase of operation.

By 2023, Toyo Tire plans to create more than 500 jobs at its plant in Inđija, with an annual production of five million high-quality tires for markets in Europe, the Middle East and North America. The tire factory complex, which covers 64 hectares of construction land, also includes a modern tire testing facility. Toyo Tire is a renowned tire manufacturer, known throughout the world, which brought to Serbia the most modern technology in the development of the production process, as well as world-certified standards in the field of environmental protection.

The Japanese corporation Toyo Tire is the world’s leading tire manufacturer, with more than 70 years of tradition and almost 13,000 employees worldwide. The production and sale of tires is the core business of the corporation and accounts for about 90% of total sales, with products intended for passenger and off-road vehicles, as well as trucks and buses. “Toyo Tire Group” is building a global tire production and supply system for distribution to the markets of North America, Japan, Asia and Europe, with the aim of ensuring rapid delivery of products for each regional market, with factories in the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, Australia, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, Italy and the Benelux countries.

The brands that will be manufactured in India are Toyo Tire and Nitto, which are the first choice for off-road and passenger vehicles throughout North America and Europe.

The company Toyo Tire Serbia d.o.o. was founded in October 2019. In addition to the plans in the first phase that were mentioned, in the second phase production and the number of employees will be doubled, that is, around 1,200 workers will deliver ten million tires for motor vehicles that will be produced in Indjija. The plant will supply a number of markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America. Local companies will be involved in the chain of the production process, while support for the development of the local community will be implemented through a series of socially responsible business projects aimed at a positive long-term impact, Bonitet writes.
