Serbia enhances digital infrastructure with new agreement for ICT services and eGovernment expansion

The Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović, and the Director of the Fund for the Development of the Republic of Serbia, Tatjana Matić, signed an agreement to enhance the use of ICT infrastructure and services in Belgrade. Through this agreement, the Office will provide the Fund with access to the Unified Information and Communication Network of eGovernment, enabling data exchange with other state bodies, as well as improvements to local network infrastructure (LAN), replacement of active network equipment, internet access and the use of virtual servers based on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

Jovanović emphasized that the agreement reaffirms the commitment to expanding digital infrastructure in Serbia. He highlighted that more than 2,500 virtual servers are currently used by over 60 state institutions, located in the state cloud. Additionally, over 1,200 locations of various state institutions have been connected, with more than 150 state institutions and 90 locations benefiting from the modernization of the network using SD WAN technology.

Looking ahead, Jovanović announced plans for the implementation of the eHealth network by the end of 2027, which will connect more than 360 health institutions across over 3,000 locations.
