Serbia expands trade opportunities with China and France

Today, the Government of Serbia made significant strides in enhancing trade opportunities and fostering cooperation both domestically and internationally.

Firstly, the Government adopted conclusions aimed at facilitating the entry of fresh blueberries and prunes into the Chinese market. This step is crucial for opening up new avenues for Serbian agricultural products on the global stage. Additionally, measures were taken to prevent and control bird flu, a key requirement for enabling the export of chicken meat from Serbia to China.

Furthermore, the Government endorsed a decision to establish a framework for long-term dialogue in the field of energy transition and low-carbon technology by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding with Electricite de France (EDF). This initiative is geared towards implementing Serbia’s Energy Policy and leveraging EDF’s expertise as a strategic partner in achieving common energy transition goals.

Moreover, the Government supported cooperation between the City of Užice and the Municipality of Pljevlja, focusing on various areas such as economy, science, culture, education, sports, tourism, and ecology. This collaborative effort aims to strengthen ties between the two regions and promote mutual development across multiple sectors.

These decisions underscore Serbia’s commitment to fostering economic growth, enhancing trade relations, and promoting collaboration at both national and international levels.
