Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that he expects the United States to impose sanctions on NIS (Naftna Industrija Srbije) around January 1st. He explained that the situation regarding oil supply for Serbia would be clearer after the discussions between the Croatians and Americans concerning the Janaf oil pipeline, which are expected to take place on Monday.
Vučić emphasized that Serbia must secure its oil supply, acknowledging that it would not be easy but that discussions with both Russian allies and American partners would be necessary. He also pointed out that the U.S. sanctions are aimed at causing trouble for Russia, with Serbia being a collateral damage in the process.
