Serbia has unique offer – achieving duty free markets

Minister of Trade and Services Slobodan Milosavljevic said yesterday that the economies of Serbia and Italy are complementary, which is the key that will allow for the foreign trade exchange to double within the next three or four years and reach the annual level of $5 billion to $6 billion.

Speaking at the opening of the media economic forum “Towards the EU: Italy and Serbia, a Strategic Partnership”, Milosavljevic said that the complementarity of the two economies is due to the strength of Italian brands and their financial potential on the one hand, and on the other Serbia’s industrial potential and its primary sector, good and highly qualified workforce and the possibility of duty free trade.

The Minister voiced hope that this will generate new investments and improve the standard of living in Serbia, and that it will also positively influence the Italian economy.

He pointed out that Serbia has a unique offer in Europe – duty-free markets such as the markets of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the region of CEFTA, Turkey, and even EU markets.
